Helfara
I T A L Y
Started in March 2025, Helfara is a research project by MWA aimed at exploring for the first time the architectural history of the Longobard settlement of the hypothesized Helfara > Farahel > Fasanel > Fasanella, then extended into the actual town of Sant'Angelo a Fasanella (Salerno, Italy). The first stage of the non-invasive archaeological research at the Grotta di San Michele Arcangelo has brought to light clues of possible early medieval runic inscription of a possible tomb of a Longobard or Saxon noble woman named Edwige. The project is in partnership with the town of Sant'Angelo a Fasanella and partner of the Ahto Thurni project in the bigger territorial research and museum project Krunatun.
