Dragon Skin
Dragon Skin
Lasted from October 2025 to March 2026, Dragon Skin was an independent research project by MWA aimed at exploring the architecture and symbolism of the original wooden church of the Longobard Royal Abbey of Nonantola, in the province of Modena, in northern Italy. The research identified clues suggesting Pagan-Christian syncretism based on dragon symbolism from pre-Christian Scandinavia. The research was published in March 2026 in the United States of America, in Timber Framing 159, the journal of the international Timber Framers Guild.
