Norður
Norður is a research project by MWA | Medieval Wooden Architecture.
Started in June 2026, the research will explore the archetypes and symbolism of proto-Norse and Norse wooden architecture, and the Pagan-Christian syncretism that followed the Christianization of medieval Scandinavia.
In collaboration with the National Museum of Iceland
"Norse people were extraordinary land and sea explorers, but also mighty explorers of life and spirit, with a deep and sacred concept of honor, loyalty, nobility. They were warriors whose legendary bravery was not religious conditioning to better serve their gods, but a spiritual attitude from which their mythological gods were born. They were spiritual warriors before being warriors of swords."
